JICA project management committee convenes

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The
second meeting of the joint management committee of the Japan International
Cooperation Agency (JICA)’s Project for Capacity Development of Business
Persons through Mongolia-Japan Center for Human Resources Development took
place at the Mongolia-Japan Human Resources Development Cooperation Center on
December 16.
Director of Mongolia-Japan
Human Resources Development Cooperation Center D.Davaadorj presented a report
on the actions carried out by the committee in 2020 and JICA chief adviser Onishi
Yoshifumi outlined a new projects and actions planned.
JICA Mongolia Office Senior
Representative Yoshimura Tokuji said, “We will put emphasis on improving
Mongolian products to put them on the Japanese market. JICA has implemented
numerous projects and programs in diverse industries, including a value chain project
aimed at increasing the value of Mongolian agricultural products. We are also
working to develop industrial human resources through another project”
JICA business networking
expert Nakamura Ko noted at the meeting that the agency is looking into the
possibility of exporting seabuckthorn, cashmere, Mongolian milk vodka, and
other products, exploring what products Japanese companies can make from
seabuckthorn and what garments the designers can create from cashmere.
Representatives of the
Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Finance, SME Agency, National
University of Mongolia, Mongolia-Japan Human Resources Development Cooperation
Center, and JICA Mongolia Office took part in the meeting.
