MNUMS Mongolia-Japan Hospital expands its operation

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The departments of Internal, Cardiovascular and Neurology Medicines and Intensive Care Unit of the Mongolia-Japan Teaching Hospital of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS) started operation yesterday.
In connection with the expansion of operations, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science D.Batbayar, State Secretary of the Ministry of Health Ya.Amarjargal, Counsellor of the Embassy of Japan in Mongolia Shinichiro Hayashi, Chief Representative at JICA Mongolia Office Tamura Eriko and MNUMS Director Dr. Prof. N.Khurelbaatar have met with the management team and staff, as well as getting acquainted with the hospital.
Emphasizing the importance of everyone’s effort on establishment of university hospital system in Mongolia and development of training, research and clinical medicine in a comprehensive manner, MNUMS Director Dr. Prof. N.Khurelbaatar called on all doctors, professors and the staff working at the hospital to work diligently to achieve the goal.
The hospital, built with a non-refundable aid of MNT 175 billion provided by Japan was transferred to the Ministry of Education and Science in March. The hospital employs more than 500 doctors and medical staff and provides 1,042 types of medical services to the citizens in 17 areas, including surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, resuscitation and emergency care.
