Direct flight between London and Ulaanbaatar under study

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ During his meeting with Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Philip Malone, Minister of Road and Transport Development L.Khaltarbh stressed that the sides are studying the possibilities to operate direct flight between London and Ulaanbaatar.
Noting that it is his second meeting with the Ambassador, the Minister said he attaches attention on cooperation in transport sector between Mongolia and Great Britain.
Bilateral cooperation has been developing in railroad sector successfully with active participation and initiations of private sector. In particular, Pandrol UK Limited and “RM&S” companies, which manufacture railroad tie and fastenings, have introduced their products into Mongolian market successfully. Specifically, mentioning that rail fastenings produced by Pandrol Company are being applied in 414.6 km railroad construction from Tavantolgoi to Zuunbayan, the Minister requested the Ambassador to pay attention on possibilities to manufacture some parts of rail fastening systems in Mongolia, on which talks had been held with Pandrol company, as there is huge demand of rail fastenings for the number of ongoing and to be implemented railroad construction projects further.
In turn, Ambassador Philip Malone pledged to support on setting up a factory for production of some parts of rail fastenings in Mongolia and to cooperate in a wider scope in road and transport sector of the two countries.
