Mongolian delegate attends in 7th Asia-Pacific Urban Forum

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Seventh Asia-Pacific Urban Forum took place in Penang, Malaysia from October 15 to 18. Over 7,000 representatives of 60 countries attended the forum that is held every four years that was organized under the theme, ‘Future of Asia and Pacific Cities: Transformative Pathways to Achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’.
Head of the Environmental Department of the capital E.Battulga participated in the discussion, ‘Building Economic Resilience of Urban Communities’, as a panelist, introducing the project on forest protection by improving the income and livelihoods of local citizens in forest areas, and initiatives to increase the effective usage of natural resources in correlation to the joint UN ESCAP - UN Habitat project, ‘Integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into local action in support of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Asia and the Pacific’ that has recently been launched in the cities of Battambang in Cambodia, Nadee in Thailand, Naga in the Philippines, Nasinu in Fiji, and Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia.
