Students from Dornogobi visit Japan
SocietyDornogobi /MONTSAME/ Within the framework of cooperation between Dornogobi aimag and Shizuoka prefecture of Japan, 25 high school students who were selected with their success in studies, sports and arts visited Shizuoka prefecture on October 22-29 with their teachers.
The students from
Mongolian Gobi region got acquainted with activities of high school in the prefecture,
attending the class activities and visited Japanese sightseeing places such as Mount
Fuji, White Thread Waterfalls, Fujisan World Heritage Center and Meiji
chocolate factory.
Besides visiting
tourist attractions and Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, the students learnt from the
country’s culture, customs and tradition. The student exchange
program allows children to experience lifestyle of people living in developed country, how their peers are educating, as well as to help choose their profession and to be patriotic, the officials emphasized.
All the expenses of the students worth MNT 65 million was sponsored by the Dornogobi Great Development Fund fully. Within eight years since the establishment of cooperation between Dornogobi aimag and Shizuoka prefecture, over 200 students and 20 teachers as well as 60 civil servants have visited the Japanese prefecture.
