A total of 2800 children to be provided with counseling services

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. A joint team from the
Authority for Family, Child and Youth Development, the General Police
Department, the National Center for Public Health, the Specialized Inspection
Agency and the Emergency Management Agency provided information under the
topic ‘Child First’ preventive measure for protection of children.
Head of the 'Children's Rights Implementing Department
of the AFCYD G.Sarankhuu said, “A total of 24 activities are planned
to be implemented in two groups as part of the ‘Child First’ event. In its
frame, the joint team will carry out certain measures such as providing
advice to the medical and educational specialists.
In connection with the summer holidays, measures are being
carried out to prevent children from potential risks and keep children
safe from injury in cooperation with the Emergency Management Agency and the
National Center for Public Health.
As part of the joint measures, a total of 2,800 children
from over 860 households will be provided with counseling services. A
total financing worth MNT 70.4 million will be allocated for the ‘Children
First’ project. The Mongolian Bar Association and child protection
organizations are collaborating for the project.
The Law on Combating Domestic Violence states that a joint
child protection team shall operate in every soum and khoroo.
In 2021, 142,442 accidents were recorded in Mongolia, which
shows a decrease of 2.1 percent from the previous year. Children aged 0-4 are
more likely to be injured. Out of the injuries caused by various factors,
violence accounts for 9.7 percent,”
