MCC Mongolia proposes National Statistics Office to conduct survey

A.Ariunzaya met with a delegation led by Alex Russin, Millennium Challenge
Corporation's (MCC) Resident Country Director for Mongolia.
Under the
second compact between the Government of Mongolia and MCC, around USD 350
million in grants will be spent on improving water supply in Ulaanbaatar and
the compact’s Water Supply Project will assist construction of new
groundwater wells and a water treatment plant and improvement of water
sector in Mongolia. At the meeting, a proposal was made to the National
Statistics Office to jointly conduct a survey under the compact.
Mr. Alex
Russin emphasized the office’s surveys and official statistics have significant
role in implementation of the compact. In turn Ms. A.Ariunzaya mentioned the
timeliness and importance of the compact and expressed readiness to collaborate.
