Chestnut Horse Trained by M. Tserenjav Wins National Naadam’s Ikh Nas Race

Ulaanbaatar, July 12, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The race of horses above five-year-old (Ikh nas) part of the National Naadam Festival marking the 2234th anniversary of the establishment of Mongolian Statehood, the 819th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, the 114th anniversary of the Restoration of National Freedom and Independence, and the 104th anniversary of the People’s Revolution of Mongolia, has taken place on June 11.


A total of 210 horses were registered for the race, and 161 met the official standards required wither height and started the race.


The chestnut horse of State Leading Horse Trainer Tserenjav Munkhbat from Baruun-Urt soum, Sukhbaatar aimag won the first place.


The runner-up was the dark bay of State Leading Horse Trainer B. Yeroolt from Chandmani soum, Khovd aimag

    Third place went to the bay of State Supreme Horse Trainer M. Altan-Ochir from Zaamar soum, Tuv aimag

      Fourth place was claimed by the dark bay of State Honored  Horse Trainer A. Nyambaatar from Khaliun soum, Govi-Altai aimag


      Fifth place went to the gray of State Supreme Horse Trainer T. Ikhbayar from Bayan-Ovoo soum, Bayankhongor aimag


      The National Naadam horse racing events will continue today with the race of 5-year-old horses (Soyolon).
