International Conference touches upon challenges of fighting money laundering

/MONTSAME/ On October 30, international scientific conference on ‘Countering
Money Laundering’ is taking place in the State House, under the auspices of the
Prime Minister of Mongolia.
The
conference is being co-organized by the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs, the
National Police Agency, Bank of Mongolia (BoM) and the Mongolian Bankers
Association.
The scientific conference is attended by representatives, scientists and researchers of some 400 government, non-government, domestic and foreign organizations such as the Office of the President of Mongolia, the National Security Council, the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs, the BoM, the Independent Authority Against Corruption of Mongolia, universities, Federal Bureau of Investigation Of the U.S., the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Korean National Police Agency and so forth.
Opening
the international scientific conference, Minister of Justice and Home Affairs and
Chair of the National Commission for Anti-Money Laundering and Combating
Financing Terrorism Ts.Nyamdorj and Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh
delivered speeches.
Over
30 scientific papers that touched upon issues of countering money-laundering were
submitted to the conference, of which selected ones will be presented and discussed.
The
organizers expect that organizing the international conference is significant
for Mongolia to determine challenges of fighting money-laundering at national and international level, to find solutions for the challenges and to expand
international cooperation scope among organizations in anti-money laundering.
The
National Police Agency reported that a set of recommendation will be released
at the end of the conference.
