Preschool education access to be increased

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A working group headed by Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Ts.Tsogzolmaa got acquainted with winter preparedness and new academic year preparation of kindergartens and schools in remote khoroos and villages of Songinokhairkhan district such as Takhilt, Emeelt and Jargalant and the 210th and 228th kindergartens and the 12th and 62nd secondary schools. 
 
Directors of the kindergartens reported that they are paying attention to increase access to preschool education. In particular, the kindergartens founded additional ger classes.   

The Minister pointed out that it is important to ensure winter preparedness and preparation for the academic year well, to put control to the quality of renovation and construction works as well as adhere to learning environment standards.

A total of 47 kindergartens are rendering preschool education service in the district. The working group highlighted good performance and quality of construction works including newly built kindergartens and schools and extension works.
 
Preschool  enrollment was 81.5 percent nationwide in the academic year of 2017-2018 and the Ministry intends to bring it to 82 percent, using all possibilities such as baby-sitting service, (alternate/variant training) and ger kindergarten.

According to the Ministry's study, there are 312611 children aged of 2-5 who should attend preschool. Furthermore some 70 thousand pupils will  enter secondary schools in the academic year of 2018-2019.
