Purified greywater to be supplied for Gobi regional needs

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Cabinet resolved to implement the Songino-Gobi water supply project under a design-build-operate-transfer concession agreement.
The project is charted to provide people living in Gobi region with technical and industrial water (200 thousand meter cubic a day) by purifying as per standards greywater coming from the Wastewater Treatment Plant and to supply 50 thousand meter cubic water to the station. Thus, it is contributive to preventing shortage in groundwater resources in the region, saving water resources, re-using greywater for industrial purpose as well as ensuring favorable living conditions by establishing green zones, artificial lakes and fonds.

As a preliminary estimation, through washing and exporting coal from Tavan Tolgoi coal deposit, it is possible to earn profit of up to USD 50-60 from a ton. Subsequently, it is estimated to earn over USD 2 billion revenue a year.
