Cooperation proposed for UB city air pollution

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Foreign Minister D.Tsogtbaatar received Beate Trankman, UN Resident Coordinator, and Naomi Kitahara, UNFPA Mongolia Country Representative on November 2.

At the meeting, Minister D.Tsogtbaatar asked them to prioritize an issue of reducing Ulaanbaatar city’s air pollution in cooperation between Mongolia and the UN. “In order to find an ideal solution to reduce air pollution, it is very important to make right policy with a help of thorough knowledge and experiences of UN system organizations, and to realize the policy under cooperation with government by concentrating efforts, money and capacity of all participant bodies,” he pointed-out.

Moreover, multilateral activities are necessary to be conducted to reduce air pollution, for instance issues such as urban planning and migration need absolute solutions.     

In response, Beate Trankman expressed commitment to closely cooperate with government for reducing air pollution.
