Honorary Consul of Mongolia Battsetseg Tuvshintugs Addresses the Illinois House of Representatives

Ulaanbaatar, May 23, 2025 /MONTSAME/. At the invitation of Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives Emanuel Chris Welch, Honorary Consul of Mongolia in Chicago Battsetseg Tuvshintugs visited the State Capitol in Springfield and addressed the House of Representatives on May 20, 2025.
In her remarks, Honorary Consul Battsetseg Tuvshintugs underscored the recent establishment of the Consulate of Mongolia in Chicago, in accordance with the policy of the State Great Khural (Parliament) and the Government of Mongolia to provide timely consular services to Mongolian citizens residing in Central United States, and to further advance the Mongolia–U.S. Strategic Partnership. Honorary Consul Battsetseg highlighted the Consulate’s active engagement and productive cooperation with a wide range of institutions in Illinois, including non-profit and business organizations founded by members of the Mongolian community in the United States.
Consul Battsetseg expressed sincere appreciation to the Illinois General Assembly and Government for the continued support and attention to Mongolian citizens living in and around Chicago. Honorary Consul Battsetseg expressed confidence that the General Assembly would maintain its active collaboration with the Consulate in promoting bilateral cooperation.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Consul Battsetseg Tuvshintugs also held meetings with Speaker Emanuel Chris Welch, Minority Leader Tony McCombie, and several members of both the Illinois Senate and House of Representatives.
