The exercise aims at expanding defense relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea and enhancing the capacity of the two countries in United Nations peacekeeping operations.
During the joint training, the two sides are improving their ability to operate in peacekeeping operations by setting up a field command post, shower and sanitation facilities, building a tactical road, establishing a crossing over a water obstacle, constructing a temporary Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) for air support, creating security and support posts, building fuel and ammunition storage depots, establishing a field drinking-water supply point, installing perimeter fencing and an access-control checkpoint for field positions, and conducting training on handling and rendering safe explosive ordnance, among other tasks.
This training exercise is being implemented as part of the agreement reached during the first Ground Forces Consultative Meeting in 2024, and also in commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea. The second training exercise will be held in Mongolia in September 2025.
