New Ulaanbaatar International Airport Receives ACI Membership Certificate

Ulaanbaatar, May 23, 2025 /MONTSAME/. "New Ulaanbaatar International Airport" LLC, the operator of Chinggis Khaan International Airport, became a member of the Airports Council International (ACI) for the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region in February 2025.
On May 22, 2025, ACI Asia-Pacific and Middle East Director General Stefano Baronci presented the Membership Certificate to Chief Executive Officer of "New Ulaanbaatar International Airport" Noda Tetsuo.
The ACI, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, was established in 1991 and represents the collective interests of airports around the world and promotes policies, programs, and best practices in the safety, security, service standards, and sustainability of the aviation industry. It also works with governments and international aviation organizations such as ICAO to provide a wide range of information and training opportunities and strengthen industry cooperation. As of today, 2,181 airports from 170 countries are members of the organization.
With the ACI membership, "New Ulaanbaatar International Airport" will have opportunities to take part in internationally recognized training, safety, and environmental sustainability programs, as well as facilitate air transportation and improve the quality of customer service. The event was emphasized as an important step to advance the airport’s operation toward the goal of “A safe, comfortable, customer-friendly and high-level airport”.
ACI Regional Director for Asia, Pacific and Middle East Stefano Baronci, said, “We are delighted to welcome New Ulaanbaatar International Airport to our network of airports. We have no doubt that New Ulaanbaatar International Airport will make a difference. It is the gateway to Mongolia. We are confident that we can provide the best services to help it grow even faster. The Asia-Pacific region is the fastest-growing region in the world, and Mongolia can contribute to this. We are privileged to represent large, medium, and small airports in this region. ACI’s mission is to support development through its programs and services. These include programs targeted to reducing the carbon emissions of airports, measuring customer and passenger satisfaction, improving services, training employees, and various other activities.”
New Ulaanbaatar International Airport CEO Noda Tetsuo said, “By becoming a member of this organization, we will receive information on a wider scale. It will enable us to obtain international experience. This will be important not only for the 'Chinggis Khaan' International Airport, but also for the further development and prosperity of the Mongolian civil aviation and aviation industry.”
