Fifth International Conference on Mongolian Studies Held in Poland

Ulaanbaatar, December 11, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University of Warsaw hosted the 5th International Conference “Mongolia and the Mongols: Past and Present” on December 8-9, 2025, at the University of Warsaw, Poland.
At the opening of the conference, Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Poland, Oyundari Navaan-Yunden,
congratulated scholars and researchers who have made valuable contributions to
the development of Mongolian studies.
The Ambassador also highlighted the achievements of the Mongolia-Poland partnership and emphasized the growing opportunities to further expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, business, education, and science.
The conference featured 59 presentations by around 70
scholars and researchers from over 10 countries, including Poland, France,
Austria, Hungary, Germany, the United Kingdom, China, the Czech Republic,
Belgium, and Estonia, covering fields such as linguistics, religious studies,
archaeology, geology, medicine, cultural studies, anthropology, economy, and
the arts.
During the reception, the “Mongol Ayalguu” ensemble, throat
singer and morin khuur player B. Yesun-Erdene, and yatga and morin khuur player
N. Khulan presented a performance.
Additionally, Ambassador Oyundari presented the
“Distinguished Worker of Science” honorary medal to the Director of the
Archives at the Krakow Academy of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Adam Korczynski. Moreover, state
awards were also conferred upon some Mongolian citizens residing in Poland.
