G. Orgilbold Wins Powerlifting World Championship for the Fourth Consecutive Year

Ulaanbaatar, May 28, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The World Classic Bench Press Championship was held in Drammen, the Kingdom of Norway, where the Mongolian National Team, led by Honored Coach of Mongolia D. Battulga, won a total of eight medals.
Notably, G. Orgilbold claimed the gold medal in the men’s 93 kg weight category, lifting 227.5 kg and resonating the National Anthem of Mongolia. With this victory, he becomes the first Mongolian athlete to win the championship four years in a row.
In the -120 kg category, Paralympic gold, silver, and bronze medalist, Hero of Labor of Mongolia, Honored Athlete of Mongolia, and National Team Member E. Sodnompiljee lifted 250 kg from the chest to secure a silver medal. This marks his eighth medal at the World Championship, five of which are silver.
In the junior division, E. Dashdondog won gold in the 53 kg weight class, and O. Tsendgelbayar took bronze in the 83 kg class. In the Masters divisions, Ts. Otgondalai won gold in the 93 kg Master-1 category, while Kh. Battumur claimed bronze in the 93 kg Master-2 category, Kh. Amarsanaa took silver in the 74 kg class, and L. Batsaikhan earned bronze in the 66 kg Master-3 category.
