Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The national consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.1% in August of this year against previous month, by 3.4% against beginning of the year; and by 6.6% over the same period of the previous year.

The increase of 3.4% from beginning year was mainly due to increases of 39.5% in education, 25.0% in food and nonalcoholic beverages group and 19.1% in clothing, footwear and cloth group.
