Press tour organized for ADB-funded projects in Selenge aimag
The Government of Mongolia in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is implementing numerous projects in Mongolia that would make a significant contribution to the country’s social and economic development. On May 6-7, within a press tour led by Ms. Yolanda Fernandez Lommen, ADB Country Director for Mongolia, our reporting team got acquainted on-site with the implementation progress and outcomes of the ones being carried out in Selenge aimag.

A reporting team of the MONTSAME national news agency visited the Beaver Introduction Project Unit in Gachuurt Village in Bayanzurkh district, Ulaanbaatar, where beavers are introduced to restore the headwaters of the Tuul River, the main drinking water source of the capital city.

Heavy rain causes flash flooding, more rainfall expected
Early July and recent heavy rainfalls of unprecedented intensity caused flash floods in several parts of the country, affecting hundreds of households. Bayan-Ulgii, Selenge and Tuv aimag are badly affected by flash floods caused by recent heavy, quick rainfalls, according to the National Emergency Agency of Management on July 18.
