Sod-turning ceremony held for redevelopment project in Nalaikh district
On June 20, a sod-turning ceremony was held to redevelop the site of two such apartment blocks with the district's governor Ch.Radnaabazar, Capital City Housing Corporation CEO B.Sukhbaatar, CEO of project contractor, Standard Holding LLC, O.Myagmardorj, and citizens in attendance.

A groundbreaking ceremony, ‘Always In Our Hearts’, was held for a memorial to the Mongolians and Russians, who went off to the Great Patriotic War from Mongolia, outside the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Ulaanbaatar on June 22.

Mongolia confirms another two coronavirus cases, total at 215
Today’s COVID-19 press briefing by the Ministry of Health updated the latest coronavirus situation in Mongolia. In the past 24 hours, a total of 426 test have been carried out at three laboratories nationwide.  Among them, two people repatriated from Kazakhstan were tested positive for the virus, taking the total number of people who ever had the disease in Mongolia at 215.

20.3 km road opens in Khovd aimag
The construction of a 20.3 km access road which connects capital of Khovd aimag’s Must soum to the western regional road network has been completed and opened on June 19.

Health Promotion Center opens at the State Central First Hospital
Aimed at preventing citizens from any diseases, detecting at its early stage and giving health education, “Health Promotion Center”, diagnostic and treatment center has opened today, June 22 at the State Central First Hospital (SCFH).

Libraries and museums re-open from today
Governor of the Capital and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city S.Amarsaikhan announced that libraries and museums in the city have started resuming operations from today. Sterilization and disinfection works must be organized well, cautioned the Mayor.

ADB Project Expands Food Stamps and Cash Grants for Poor and Vulnerable
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $26.4 million loan to lessen the socioeconomic impacts of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic on poor and vulnerable groups in Mongolia, especially women and children.

According to the Law on Promotion of Youth Development, private entities, who have 100 and over employees undertake duty to dedicate its vacancies equal to 5 percent of its total employees to students.

Mongolia’s humanitarian assistance handed over to the United States
H.E. Mr. Yondon Otgonbayar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the United States, officially handed over the 60 thousand personal protective equipment (PPE) to Mr. Mike O’Hare, Regional Administrator of the FEMA’s Region 10, on June 21, 2020.

Mongolia’s first direct flight to U.S. departs, carrying PPE assistance worth USD 1 million
Mongolia has been continuously repatriating its citizens stranded abroad due to border closure imposed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. A total of nine charter flights are have been on the plan to bring back 2,300 citizens from overseas this month alone.
