A small sized aircraft started operating flights to Altai and Bugat soums

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ “Cessna Grand Caravan 208B’ small-sized aircraft of “Geosan” LLC started operating flights to Altai and Bugat soums of Gobi-Altai aimag.
The Cessna Grand Caravan 208B aircraft has 12 passenger seats and it flies at the height of 8,340 m with 341 km/h speed and in distance of 1,700 km.
Altai and Bugat soums are largely populated soums secluded from the aimag center. And it is difficult to the soum residents to travel to the aimag center especially in winter and spring seasons due to high mountains and road obstacles. The new flight enables older people, mothers with small children and citizens who are in need of medical emergency assistance to promptly travel to the aimag center or the capital city, bringing state service closer to the citizens.
In addition, it is planned to build an aerodrome for general-purpose aircraft in 116 locations of 21 aimags in the future and relevant officials are working to build an air strip in soums such as Bayandun, Khalkhgol soums of Dornod aimag, Galshar, Binder and Dadal soums of Khentii aimag.
