Deputy PM U.Enkhtuvshin visits Erdenet Mining Corporation

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Prime Minister U.Enkhtuvshin attended an inauguration ceremony of major projects of ‘Erdenet Mining’ Corporation (EMC).
The Government Agency for Policy Coordination on State Property has approved guidelines of “Erdenet Mining” Corporation to be achieved until 2031. To implement the guidelines, number of projects and programs are planned and some of its major projects are officially starting from today. In particular, projects including Technology introduction of in-pit cyclic-flow conveying system, Water pipeline installation, construction of apartment “Miner-1” and “Erdenet” Cultural and Sports Complex are commencing.
About the projects, Director General of the EMC Kh.Badamsuren said “We miners permanently over-fulfilled main tasks of our factory, accumulating MNT 230 billion to the state and local budgets. With implementation of these projects, we expect to raise efficiency of our plant and create new jobs.”
“Erdenet Mining” Corporation is one of the largest factories, which leads with its copper and molybdenum ore mining and concentration in Asia. It processes 26 million tons of ore and produces around 530 thousand tons of copper concentrate and about 4.5 thousand tons of molybdenum concentrate per year. Furthermore, the EMC has set a goal to increase its capacity to process 35 million tons of ore yearly.
