Ulaanbaatar, September 1, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 2025 Asia-Pacific Regional Conference of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) is taking place in Suwon, Republic of Korea, from August 30 to September 1, 2025, under the theme ‘Living in Harmony with Our Planet.’ The event has convened broad discussions on children’s literature and reading education.

Authors, translators, editors, and publishers from more than 30 Asian countries are exchanging experiences on the future of children’s books, creative practices, and the art of picture books. The program also features poetry evenings, book signings, and creative exhibitions, providing participants with a platform to share new ideas on children’s literature. In parallel, publishers are strengthening cooperation through book fairs and exchanges.

Following the conference, participants will join special English-language tours of Suwon’s historic sites and the National Library for Children and Young Adults.

Mongolia is represented by Libro Suvd Agency, Book Time Publishing, and the Co-founder of IBBY Mongolia, J. Sunjidmaa, underscoring the country’s contribution to building cultural bridges and advancing reading culture across Asia.

The 40th IBBY World Congress will be held in Ottawa, Dominion of Canada, in 2026.
