U.S. provides additional MNT 8.5 billion to advance sustainable, inclusive economic growth in Mongolia
On January 14, 2021, the United States, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), signed a MNT 8.5 billion ($3.0 million) expansion of the bilateral agreement with the Ministry of Finance of Mongolia to promote good economic governance; reliable, efficient and affordable energy; and sustainable, private sector-led growth in Mongolia.

Opening bell ceremony held for first asset-backed securities

Khuvsgul aimag's reindeer population stands at 3,127
The statistics department of Khuvsgul amag reports that the population of reindeer in the aimag has reached 3,127, which shows an increase of 18,6 percent or 491 compared to last year.

Artifacts dating back to the Stone and Bronze Age discovered
Artifacts dating back to the Late Stone Age have been discovered in the territory of Tsagaan-ovoo soum, Dornod aimag. Specifically, over 700 findings have been found including bone beads, bronze knives and coins dating back  from the Late Stone Age to the New Stone Age, early Iron Age, the Bronze Age, Khunnu (Xiongnu) era and the Middle Age as well as fracture of clay vases with and without patterns, bronze arrowheads, bronze engraved decorations, iron knives and nails.

At the end of 2020, 60.3 million tonnes of freight were carried in total by all types of transport. Compared to the same period of the previous year, the carried freight was dropped by 8.7 million tonnes (12.6%).

In our series of highlight artifacts being kept at the National Museum of Mongolia, we are presenting the Altai harp. The artifact was discovered at a burial site during an excavation conducted by a team led by researchers of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences Ts.Turbat and D.Batsukh in Mankhan soum, Khovd aimag in 2008.

Mongolia counts 67.1 million head of livestock
According to the preliminary result of the annual livestock census of 2020, heads of livestock in Mongolia totaled 67.1 million,  of which 4.1 million horses, 4.7 million cattle, 472.9 thousand camels, 30.0 million of sheep, and 27.7 million goats.
