Mongolia Wins 2nd, 3rd, 4th Places at Axe International Festival

Ulaanbaatar, August 25, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Mongolian artisans successfully participated in the 16th Prazdnik Topora (“Axe Festival”) international folk crafts event, annually organized in the Tomsk Region, the Russian Federation.

 

R. Tserenbat and Ts. Munkh-Erdene won second place, while Kh. Altankhuu and D. Munkhbaatar won fourth place at the Festival. Contestant B. Battsooj won third place in the “Relief” category.

 

The Axe Festival is organized within the following categories:

  • “Wooden Craftsmanship” (park sculpture, wood carvers, and teamwork)
  • “Each Ancil Has Its Own Voice” (modern plastic in metal, forged park sculpture, and cinematic sculpture)
  • “Clay Tale” (clay folk toy, hand molding, and pottery)
  • “Birch Bark Round Dance”

This year’s competition brought together over 170 artisans from 17 countries, among whom Mongolian participants aimed to promote the valuable national arts and crafts internationally. The Festival contributes to the exchange of international craftsmanship experiences and the promotion of folk crafts.
