B. Khulan Wins Bronze at Judo Cadet World Championships 2025

/MONTSAME/. The OTP Group Cadet World Championships 2025 is underway in
Sofia, the Republic of Bulgaria.
Out of the four Mongolian athletes
who participated in the tournament on August 27, 2025, an athlete of the Mon-Altius
Tsagaanbaatar Academy, Khulan B, won Mongolia’s first medal of the Championships
in the -40 kg weight class. In this weight category, 17 athletes competed. B.
Khulan received a bye in the first round, then defeated Kazakhstan’s wrestler
Pryakhina Ulyana by a clear victory. However, in the quarterfinals, she lost to
Uzbekistan’s Kolucheva Alina by a waza-ari. In the repechage, she defeated the
Algerian opponent, and in the bronze medal match, she beat Russia’s
Saifutdinova Emiliia by yuko.
Fourteen-year-old Khulan, competing
in the World Championships for the first time, trains at Mong-Altius High
School of Mon-Altius Tsagaanbaatar Academy under the leadership of Kh. Tsagaanbaatar,
O. Uuganbaatar, and D. Battuvshin. The cadet judoka won the National Cadet Championship
this year, securing her right to compete on the global stage.
Six Mongolian judokas are set to
wrestle in the men’s 60 and 66 kg, as well as the women’s 48 and 52 kg, matches
to take place on August 28, 2025. In the men’s 60 kg division, N. Tegsh-Ochir
received a bye in the opening round. In the same weight class, B. Tsolmon-Od is
set to face Ko Po-Erh of Chinese Taipei. In the 66 kg category, Ch. Temuulen
will compete against Azdanin Ashraf of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
In the women’s events, A. Misheel will meet Anamarija Stojmilovska of the Republic of North Macedonia in the 48 kg division, while A. Khongorzul is scheduled to face Leyla Alakbarova of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, in the 52 kg weight class, B. Gundegmaa received a bye in the first round and is set to face the winner of the match between the representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kingdom of Sweden in the second round, according to the draw.
