President Khurelsukh Hails Efforts to Protect Mongolian Heritage Abroad

Ulaanbaatar, August 27, 2025 /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa met with the Council of Mongolians Abroad on August 26 to discuss their success in organizing the World Mongolians Festival held in Brussels, Belgium, in July.
The festival was held under the president's patronage, with the council emphasizing that it strengthened the unity of Mongolians living overseas, brought the state and citizens closer together, and promoted Mongolia internationally.
According to the council, approximately 15,000 foreign visitors attended the World Mongolians Festival.
During the meeting, the council recalled their 2021 discussion with the president about holding the World Mongolians Festival across four continents on a rotating basis under the president’s patronage. Subsequently, the council also recalled from that meeting in 2021 the proposal to organize unified assemblies and implement a standardized program in schools for Mongolians living abroad
Additionally, the president and the council talked about safeguarding 300,000 Mongolians living overseas, creating optimal conditions for their return and investment in Mongolia, expanding the country’s foreign trade through the resources and capabilities of Mongolians abroad, and improving mother tongue education for Mongolian children growing up and being raised abroad.
President Khurelsukh conveyed his warm greetings to Mongolians living overseas and reaffirmed his support for their future endeavors.
