Mongolia ranks 26th with the number of female peacekeepers

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. This year marks the 20th anniversary
of the Mongolian military's participation in UN peacekeeping operations.
Among military contributors to the United Nations, Mongolia ranks
26th with the number of female peacekeepers. More than 800 military
personnel are currently serving in peacekeeping operations. Over the past 20
years, more than 13,000 military personnel were served, emphasized
Brigadier-General S. Ganbyamba, first deputy chief of the General Staff of the
Armed Forces of Mongolia, at the press conference today, January 13.
Mentioning that last year marked historical anniversaries; 110th anniversary of the establishment of state administrative organization in charge of defense and 100th anniversary of founding of Modern Armed Forces, Brigadier-General S. Ganbyamba underscored " Last year, the state top award- Chinggis Khaan Order-was bestowed upon the Mongolian Armed Forces in recognition of its valuable contribution to the development of the country, such as the implementation of major railway and road projects and harvest campaign."
In 2021, the Mongolian Armed Forces organized joint military
exercise trainings with the United States, Russia, Japan and Germany and dispatched
more than 40 troops to participate in ‘Zapad-21’ military exercise held in
Russia and 30 troops for ‘Shared Destiny’ multinational peacekeeping exercise
in China. In addition, Mongolian military personnel won 2nd place in
equestrian military marathon competition in Russia.
