Training taking place to develop disability-friendly information technology

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. A training on ‘Making websites and
applications more accessible to people with disabilities’ is taking place on
January 10-12.
In Mongolia, there are more than 108 thousand people with disabilities, and the training stressed the importance of web developers in helping people with disabilities to get skills to use technology in the online environment and make other technologies support the technologies they use.
The Ministry of Digital Development and Communications and
the UNDP Accelerator Lab are co-organizing this training for web developers. Web
developers from ‘E-Mongolia’ project unit, National Data Center, National
Police Agency, General Authority for Development of Persons with Disabilities, information
technology center of custom, taxation and finance as well as Trade and
Development Bank are attending the training. As a result of the training, web
developers are expected to be skilled to optimize their websites and mobile applications for
people with disabilities in accordance with WCAG 2.0 standard.
