Works being urgently carried out to transport fuel and cargo through rail

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 1, Deputy Prime Minister S.Amarsaikhan received First Deputy Head of Ulaanbaatar Railway JSC I.V.Milostnykh.
At the start of the meeting, First Deputy Head of Ulaanbaatar Railway JSC I.V.Milsotnykh introduced the railway company’s plans for 2021, works being carried out to renew stations and intersections and future plans as well as implementation of the orders given out by the Government of Mongolia.
Noting that Ulaanbaatar Railway has transported a total of 23.7 million tons of cargo as of the first 9 months of the year, he informed the Deputy Prime Minister about the urgent transport of harvest and the fuel being imported per the order issued by the Government. He then requested Deputy Prime Minister S.Amarsaikhan to provide support in renewing the railway’s transport tariff as well as resolving the issue regarding the ‘MONPE-1’ and ‘MONPE-2’ loans provided by the Government of Japan.
In turn, Deputy Prime Minister S.Amarsaikhan expressed his support for resolving the issues, and thanked the staff of Ulaanbaatar Railway for reliably transporting citizens’ cargo despite the difficult circumstance posed by the pandemic. They then discussed the implementation of the Bogdkhan Railway Project and restoring the railway traffic to the capital city’s Nalaikh district.
During the meeting, it was also introduced that the matter regarding the construction of another railroad track for Ulaanbaatar Railway has been reflected in the railway company’s development program for 2030.
