UN to render support to online learning

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On April 22, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Yo.Baatarbileg received United Nations Resident Coordinator in Mongolia Mr. Tapan Mishra and UNICEF Representative in Mongolia Mr. Alex Heikens.
Highlighting that the Ministry has developed and adopted the Preparedness and Response Measures Plan for prevention of infectious disease in kindergarten and school environment with participation and support of donor organizations, Minister Yo.Baatarbileg thanked for the UNICEF for their efforts to the development of the plan.
Mr. Tapan Mishra said we are seeing that the Ministry has been successfully organizing TV classes without disregarding education services in the period of COVID-19 pandemic. “Conditions are fulfilled to provide financial aid to Mongolia during emergency situation. Certain amount of the investment is available to be allocated to improve quality and access of the online classes.”
The sides noted the importance of training and empowering teachers to implement readiness and responsive measures plan and make online learning more accessible. They also agreed to cooperate in creating policy and legal environment of online training, enhancing the content, methodology and evaluation of online classes as well as resolving systemic and technological issues as a whole.
Expressing his gratitude for rendering assistance amid the challenging situation the global pandemic has created, Minister Yo.Baatarbileg pledged to make efforts to deliver equal and inclusive education services that fit into the country’s specific characteristics.
