71st Republic Day of India celebrated in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An honorary ceremony for the 71st Republic Day of India and 65th diplomatic anniversary between Mongolia and the Republic of India took place on January 24 at the State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet under the topic ‘Past, Present and Future.’
Parliament and Cabinet members, guests from public and diplomatic organizations and Indian people working and living in Mongolia attended the ceremony.
In his opening remarks Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Mongolia M.P.Singh said "India is the world’s largest democracy while Mongolia is one of the world’s youngest democracies. Democracy, religion or dharma and development are the keystones of our traditional friendly ties. Our relations and cooperation have been developing and broadening its scope in economic field. Moreover, the sides plan to partner in the areas of up-to-date technology, IT, ICT, agriculture and pharmacy. In frames of the 65th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and India, the two sides conducted a painting exhibition of Mongolian children aged between 7 and 16. The exhibition is one of the several activities dedicated to the diplomatic anniversary. I am confident that bilateral relations would be expanded more in the future."
"India
is very important market for us. In particular, the side of India agreed to
make investment in the areas of education, culture, science, space study and
mining. Relations between the two countries is developing more," Minister of
Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar stressed in his opening speech.
The two sides also emphasized spiritual ties between the two countries, especially historic bonds related to religious heritages. On the occasion of the diplomatic anniversary, a movie serial related to history of Buddha is planned to be screened.
The two countries that advanced their bilateral relations to Strategic Partnership level, are cooperating in major projects. Particularly, the Government of India is investing USD 1.2 billion for the oil refinery project and USD 20 million for the establishment of Information Technology Center. Further, the side of India planned to prepare 1000 English teachers and give scholarships to 300 Mongolian students yearly.
During the honorary ceremony, artists of the two countries performed a concert that showed features of the two countries.
