Speaker G.Zandanshatar receives representatives of Rossotrudichestvo

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Speaker G.Zandanshatar received representatives led by Head of the Russian Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudichestvo) Eleanora Mitrofanova on September 2.
At the start of the meeting, Speaker G.Zandanshatar highlighted that he considers the contribution being made by Ms. E.V.Mitrofanova in further enhancing the traditional friendly relations and friendship between the citizens as highly significant.
In response, Ms. E.V.Mitrofanova told the Speaker that she attended the opening ceremony of the new academic year at a Russian school operating in Mongolia, and that she was especially proud of the skills and talents of the students. She then continued on by saying, “The 80th anniversary of the joint victory of the Khalkhin Gol battles is a special day for both our nations. With President of the Russian Federation V.V.Putin visiting the country on the occasion of the anniversary, it is a clear expression of the unique, historic relations between the citizens of our two nations.”
Noting that the Rossotrudichestvo office in Mongolia is always willing to further develop its relations with the Mongolian parliament, she expressed gratitude for supporting the agency’s work.
Of the 15,000 foreign students studying in Russia annually, the number of Mongolian students is increasing each year. Giving special significance to our friends, we will focus on increasing the number of students studying in the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, Ms. E.V.Mitrofanova also expressed her hope that the Russian language olympiad will continue to be organized, contributing to the Mongolian children’s language skills and knowledge of the history and culture of the Russian people, and cherish the relations, partnership and friendship between the two countries.
Speaker G.Zandanshatar agreed and noted that the children’s wishes to learn Russian will always be supported, giving the issue special attention, and informed that the establishment of a joint Mongolian-Russian university is currently being studied.
Ms. E.V.Mitrofanova then expressed her gratitude to the Mongolian alumni of Russian universities and the Mongolian people for being kind-hearted and organizing a humanitarian aid campaign when floods hit Irkutsk in spring.
