At the invitation of China Daily, Chinese English language newspaper group, senior editors and journalists from mainstream media in countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative participated in China Global Media Fellowship running at the initiative of the newspaper in partnership with Shanghai International Studies University and the University of International Business and Economics.

The program allows reporters from the countries that are encouraging the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President of China Xi Jinping to experience social and economic development of China and expand cooperation between media organizations of those countries.

Media representatives from 18 countries such as Mongolia, Russia, India, Iran, Pakistan and Azerbaijan took part in the China Global Media Fellowship of this year which was held from May 12 to June 1. While attending in courses in Beijing, Hunan and Shanghai, the participants also became familiarized with successes and activities of the largest companies in China in addition to experiencing the country’s history, culture and social life.

The delegates visited ancient historic Forbidden City and International Press Center at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in Beijing. In friendly, hospitable province Hunan, we got acquainted with implementation of the rural-revitalization projects alongside visiting cultural and historical places.

The Government of China initiated the rural-revitalization strategy and successfully implementing it with financing of public and private entities. Moreover, the reporters’ group got familiarized with social and economic robust development of Shanghai, which is developing with western style, visiting China Eastern airline, one of the three largest state owned airlines.

The foreign reporters were really impressed with the program which was combination of good quality of courses and rich cultural and entertainment events. I express my deep gratitude to China Daily newspaper group and scholars and professors of the Shanghai International Studies University and the University of International Business and Economics, who are successfully carrying out this program.
