Kuwait’s Independence Day celebrated in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Embassy of Kuwait organized a reception in Ulaanbaatar on February 27 on occasion of the 58th Anniversary of the Independence Day and the 28th Anniversary of Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait.


Officials of the two countries led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia D.Tsogtbaatar and Ambassador of Kuwait to Mongolia Mohammad Faisal Al-Mutairi, Ambassadors, representatives of international organizations and the diplomatic corps were present at the reception.   


Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar said that Mongolia established diplomatic ties with Kuwait first among the member states of Gulf Cooperation Council and political friendly ties between two countries become background of development in the spheres of economy, investment, health and environment. 2020 will mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Mongolia has interest to learn from Kuwaiti experience on working in the United Nations Security Council and to develop cooperation within it in the future. Further, the two countries will cooperate in health and humanitarian sectors and in all spheres.


With non-refundable aid of USD 8 million by the Government of Kuwait, a building for the National Burn Treatment Center is being constructed with over 60 percent fulfillment currently and is expected to be commissioned in the third quarter. Moreover, the first consultative meeting between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of two countries will be held in April.

 

As of today, the Government of Kuwait granted a total of USD 78.04 million loan to Mongolia and rendered USD 17.24 million non-refundable aid. In 2018, the country made investment of USD 110 thousand in Mongolia. Some 15 citizens of Mongolia are studying and living in Kuwait today.
