National Forum on Media Education takes place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Press Institute of Mongolia yesterday organized a national forum themed ‘Media Education’ with support of UNESCO, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and Deutsche Welle Academy of Germany.
The forum aims to hold multi-party stakeholders discussion on media education in Mongolia and to seek possibilities and solutions for resolving difficulties and challenges.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports B.Bayarsaikhan highlighted in her opening speech that the Ministry ran Say ‘No’ to Cyber Bullying campaign in 2016 and the campaign brought some awareness to media organizations, parents and teachers. Protecting its children in cyber space is one of important issues of state policy on child protection. The Ministry will support and be open for any initiatives that related to child protection and raise awareness.
In the first ever national forum, representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, media organizations, scholars, researchers and active users of social network, who are contributing to give basic knowledge on media education, attended and discussed their role and further actions to be taken.
