Some 72260 children vaccinated in Ulaanbaatar city

babies of Ulaanbaatar city (in repeated counting) have been given the
Pneumococcal Vaccine (PCV 13), which helps protect against 13 types of pneumococcal
bacteria that most commonly cause serious infections in children and adults.
Moreover, 117,215 people or 94 percent of those
who live in the most air polluted area were given flu vaccines with a purpose
to prevent young children and pregnant women from flu outbreak, said
L.Byambasuren, Deputy Minister of Health.
In partnership with the UNICEF, the Ministry of Health organized nationwide measures to deliver Vitamin A to 390 thousand children under 5 and some 40 thousand nursing mothers, vitamin and mineral powder to 4819 pregnant women as well as zinc supplement to 416 thousand children under five for prevention and treatment purposes. In addition, Vitamin D3. has been distributed to over 22 thousand pregnant women of vulnerable group.
