Mercy Corps project team working in Khovd aimag

Mercy Corps Mongolia is carrying out Leveraging Tradition and Science in
Disaster Risk Reduction (LTS2) project in some aimags including Khovd with
funding from the Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance of the United States
Agency for International Development (OFDA/USAID).
A working
group of eight people, including representatives of OFDA/USAID Christina Carol
and Jonathan Landon, Director
of Programs at Mercy Corps Mongolia G.Enkhtsetseg and LTS2 Project Manager B.Enkhtuya,
is working in Myangad, Durgun, Khovd and Jargalant soums of Khovd aimag on
December 4-8.
Head of
Citizens' Representative Khural of the aimag G.Purevgandi, Deputy Governor
T.Jargalsaikhan and other relevant officials met with the group, discussing the report
of the LTS2 project and ways for further cooperation.
The LTS2 project launched in Khovd aimag in 2015 and the project is running in all soums of the aimag beginning from this year. It provides rural herders in 91 bags of 17 soums with access to 12 kinds of real-time information on weather and pasture via SMS.
