Winners of olympiad receives scholarship to study in Russia

With aims of further developing the friendly relation between Mongolia and Russia as well as promoting the Russian language and culture, the ‘Cultural Days’ event was co-organized by the Governor’s Office of Sukhbaatar aimag, the Russian embassy, Russian Science and Culture Center and the Mongolia Russia Friendship Society.
In the framework of the event, a Russian language olympiad and a Russian poem and songs contest were organized between the 12th grade students and teachers of the Eastern region, while meetings and reunions were held for graduates of Russian universities and Russian language teachers.
First Secretary of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Mongolia, Director of the Russian Science and Culture Tatiana Budaeva said, “The olympiad that was organized among the students and teachers as well as the song and poem competitions have been very competitive. During the reunion, we officially founded the Russian Alumni Association, which has planned to promote the Russian language and culture as well as partnering with General Education Schools to organize various events. We will continue to support and work in partnership with the association.”
Teachers and students of Sukhbaatar, Dornod and Khentii aimag participated in the Russian language olympiad. While the winners of the teachers’ olympiad were awarded with the opportunity to attend a professional development course from the course of a month to a year, the students were awarded with a scholarship to study in a Russian university in the major that they prefer. All the expenses for the students’ scholarship period will be covered by the Russian embassy.
