Minister B.Batzorig attends OIE General Session

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry B.Batzorig is representing the country in the 86th OIE General Session which kicked off on May 20 in Paris, France.  

On the sidelines of the session of the World Organisation of Animal Health, Minister B.Batzorig held bilateral meetings with Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Gulnara Isayeva, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam Vu Van Tam and Minister for Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Valery Koreshkov.

The Kazakhstan’s part put requests on supplying wheat and importing beef from Mongolia, mutually agreeing on sanitary and veterinary requirements in importing and exporting livestock. They emphasized that only Mongolia could retain nomadic culture and civilization with features of special pastoral cattle breeding and noted Mongolia has wide range of opportunities to sell its ecological pure products on global market.

In response, Minister B.Batzorig accepted their proposals and said that he will set up a working group to study the issue. “Mongolia has full possibility to export beef and live cattle,” the Minister added.

At the meeting with Mr. Valery Koreshkov, the EEC Minister asked Minister B.Batzorig to render support on introducing technical regulations of EEC in agricultural products of Mongolia whereas Minister B.Batzorig expressed Mongolia's readiness to back EEC’s activity and to cooperate in future.
