Children’s writer J.Dashdondog receives State Prize

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A children’s writer – the State Honored Figure of Culture J.Dashdondog was awarded the State Prize on December 9. The President of Mongolia, Mr Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj handed the award.

J.Dashdondog has written the famous tales for children, namely “Dad, Mom and I”, “Horse Tales”, “Legend of the Stone”, “The Palace” and “Three Bright Stars of Orion”, which have made priceless contributions to the intellectual development of Mongolian children. Dashdondog Jamba authored over a hundred books. More than 30 of his books were translated to other languages, 7 books were published and released in South Korea, while five books were published in Japan. J.Dashdondog’s tales were included in the textbooks of schools in the United Kingdom and Kalmykia of Russia.

The younger generations are the authors of Mongolian future. “I believe in the principle that a country starts from its people and people – from children, said the President.

J.Dashdondog said, after receiving the State Prize, that his most cherished creation is the “Dad, Mom and I”, which he wrote with the help of his mother, father and brother. “My mom used to say that one day her son will be awarded the State Prize. Her vision came true this day”, he reminisced.

At the end, he extended gratitude to the Mongolian president and, most importantly, the generations of children, who are “the co-authors and heroes of all of his books and tales”.
