FM meets Indian scholars of Mongolian studies
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the frames of his official visit to India on April 27-29, the Mongolian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr L.Purevsuren held meetings with officials of Indian government institutions, scientific and business organizations, public representatives and Mongolian students studying in Indian universities and institutes.
During a meeting with Indian scholars of Mongolian studies, the Foreign Minister focused on the current state of the Mongolian studies and actions the government of Mongolia takes to promote the Mongolian studies overseas. He said bilateral cultural and educational collaboration as well as scholars of Mongolian studies, in particular, play big roles in forwarding the Mongolia-India traditional relations.
The sides touched upon organizing a workshop under the theme “Chingis Khaan and his legacy” in cooperation with the ICCR and Mongol studies scholars and opportunities for studying historical sources on the Mongolian history in Persian language, learning historical documents and staging exhibitions.
At the end of the meeting, the Foreign Minister handed over the Polar Star order of Mongolia to prominent scholars Dr Lokesh Chandra and Dr Mansura Haidar for their significant contributions to the development of the Mongolian studies.
