As the host country, two national teams of Mongolia got rights to partake in the competition.

State policy on tourism approved
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On August 21, State Policy on Tourism was approved by the cabinet. Corresponding ministers Environment and Tourism Minister N.Tserenbat, Finance Minister Ch.Khurelbaatar and National Development Agency Director B.Bayarsaikhan were assigned to allocate the required financing in the annual economic and social development directions, state budget and state investment programs as well as in the international organizations’ loan and assistances or fund with the help of public-private partnerships.

Boao Forum for Asia Ulaanbaatar kicks off
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Side events of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) began today on August 19. A mini Naadam festival was organized for the participants and guests of the conference at the Chinggisiin Khuree tourism camp. Opening the festival, Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar, noted that the Naadam Festival, celebrated by the Mongols since time immemorial, is a complex celebration of culture and sports, demonstrating the nomadic traditions and heritage and was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO.

“Core of wintering issue in UB lies in transportation and delivery of refined fuels”
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. During an extended meeting of the state emergency commission held today on August 19, Governor of capital city S.Amarsaikhan introduced about measures being taken for the preparation of winter of 2019/2020. He said “During the winter from 2019 to 2020, there are 1311 projects and measures are planned, 67 percent of which is fulfilled. The wintering preparation of Thermal power plants No. 2, 3 and 4 and Amgalan Power Plant is 70 percent complete. Wintering work performance at the Ulaanbaatar Thermal Power Plant, Ulaanbaatar Electricity Distribution Network and Electricity Transmission National network is around 73 percent”.

Green loans to be provided to individuals
The Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the National Committee for Environmental Pollution Reduction signed an agreement on Green loan with three commercial banks on August 15. The loan is targeted to finance the home insulation, electric heating and eco toilets of ger area residents.

Student-soldiers take the military oath
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The students who participated in the 2019 'Student-Soldier' program took their oath on a training field of the Mongolian National Defense University on August 17. Some 1000 students successfully partook in the two-month program based on the military units of the National Defense University and Uvurkhangai, Khovd, Orkhon and Dornogobi aimags.

800-year-old vases containing frozen clotted cream and yellow butter found from glacial
The ‘Umard Mongol’ joint research team of the National Museum of Mongolia, the University of Pittsburgh of the U.S, and the American Center for Mongolian Studies has come across a rare finding of three vases full of clotted cream and one vase with yellow butter that were frozen in glacial about 700-800 years ago.

Myagmarsaikhan crosses Ulaan Tsutgalan waterfall on high-wire
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Mongolian circus actor M.Myagmarsaikhan successfully walked on a 65-meter long tightrope 25 meters above the ground across the Waterfall Ulaan Tsutgalan in Uvurkhangai aimag on August 11. M.Myagmarsaikhan, the highest tightrope walker of Mongolia according to the Encyclopedia of Mongolian Circus, is an acrobat who used to work at the Mongolian National Circus until he went abroad in the late 1990s.

Tax revenue increased by 22.7 percent, reaching MNT 5.5 trillion
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The National Statistical Office of Mongolia (NSO Mongolia) released a report on the social and economic situation of Mongolia in the first seven months of 2019. The total equilibrated revenue and grants of the General government budget amounted to MNT 6.0 trillion and total expenditure and net lending amounted to MNT 5.5 trillion, resulting in a surplus of MNT 535.3 billion in the equilibrated balance.
