Blizzard warning issued for most parts of the country

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Blizzards are expected in central aimags tonight and eastern aimags tomorrow on October 20, causing temperature drops, warned the National Agency of Meteorology and Environment. 

 

Snow and blizzards are expected in the eastern parts of central and Gobi aimags, and some parts of eastern aimags on October 21, and in the western parts of western aimags on October 24. 

 

Wind speed will temporarily reach 15-17 m/sec in the Gobi and plains on October 21, and in the mountainous areas of Altai on October 24.

 

With daytime temperatures rising again from October 22, in the mountainous areas of Altai, Khangai, Khuvsgul, and Khentei, near Khurenbelchir, in the head of Zavkhan river, in the basins of Ider, Tes, Tuul, and Terelj rivers, the temperature will range from -6 to -11 degrees Celsius during the night, and +3 to +8 during the day. 

 

In the southern parts of the Gobi region, the temperature will be 0 to +5 during the night, and +13 to +18 during the day.

 

In other areas, the night-time temperature will be -5 to 0 degrees Celsius, and daytime temperature will be +7 to +12 degrees Celsius.
