Mongolia to host business forum with Eurasian Economic Commission this October
Prime Minister of Mongolia J.Erdenebat met with Tigran Sureni Sargsyan, the Chairman of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Mr. Tigran Sargsyan appreciated the PM for attending the 21st annual St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. He said that it will help develop cooperation between Mongolia and Eurasian Economic Commission.

Rain is expected in some parts of western aimags, northern part of central region and in western part of the Gobi on June 4, in some regions on June 5 and in eastern region on June 6. Winds will get stronger in most regions on June 5, reaching 16-18 m/sec, in Altai Mountains on June 7, reaching 12-14 m/sec.

Mothers awarded Glorious Mother Orders
On the occasion of International Day for Protection of Children’s Right, a presidential decree was issued to award ‘Glorious Mother’ Orders to mothers who gave birth to four or more children. On June 1, President Ts.Elbegdorj handed over the First and Second class ‘Glory of Mother’ Orders to 108 mothers.

The Parliament adopted a parliamentary resolution on Establishing National council of health insurance, during today’s plenary meeting. Minister of Labor and Social Protection N.Nomtoibayar was appointed as head of the council, D.Demberel as deputy head and appointed members include B.Choijilsuren, A.Tsogtsetseg, Ch.Tsolmongerel, D.Chimeddamba, Kh.Myagmar, Kh.Ganbaatar and Ts.Gankhuu.

Famous Chinese explorer traveling through Mongolia
Sun Jian, famous traveler, photographer and blogger from China, who has over 10 million followers on social media, is visiting Mongolia from May 29 to June 2. Mr. Sun Jian has visited 105 countries and over 40 of them were supported by the government or state organizations. This time, “Munkh Khariltsaa” (Ethernal relations) NGO, “Juulchin” LLC and “Mongol Nomadic” resort have invited Mr. Sun Jian after discussing the trip for over a year. With an aim to give positive feedbacks to his followers and Chinese people, Mr. Sun Jian has been traveling around Ulaanbaatar and north side of the country, including Khar Khorin, Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake and Khuvsgul Lake.

108 moms awarded with "Glorious Mother” order
The First and Second “Glory of Mother” Orders were bestowed upon 108 mothers today, June 1, the International Day for Protection of Children’s Right. The Orders were handed by the President of Mongolia, Mr Ts.Elbegdorj. According to the law, the mothers, who gave birth to and raised four or more children are awarded the order.

Mongolia's population is getting younger each year
The initiative to observe the first day of June as an International Day of protecting children's rights first came up as one of the results of the 1925 Assembly of the League of Nations, held in Geneva. Mongolia joined the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1990 as its fifth member. The International Children's Day is observed every year since June 1 of 1952 in Mongolia. Children under age of 18 constituted 34.6 percent (one million 79 thousand 730 children) of the total population of Mongolia by the end of 2016, making it a very "young" nation. A total of 79,382 babies were born last year, according to the National Statistics Office.

ADB begins new Mongolia partnership with USD 250 million to avert crisis in social services and banking sector
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) Board of Directors has endorsed a new Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) for Mongolia, which envisages total assistance of USD1.2 billion over the 2017-2020 period, and also approved two policy-based loans (PBLs) totaling USD250 million to start implementation of the new CPS. The loans will help maintain funding for social welfare programs for the poor and vulnerable people and stabilize and restructure the banking industry during the implementation of an extended fund facility of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved on 24 May.
