Parliament adopts 2018 directions for social and economic development

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ During its plenary session on May 31, Wednesday, Parliament adopted the document ‘2018 Main Directions for Social and Economic Development of Mongolia’.
Coherent with Sustainable Development Vision – 2030, adopted by Parliament in 2016 and the 2016-2020 action plan of the Cabinet, the document also corresponds to state budget and other financial sources.
The document comprises 5 articles, 18 goals and 99 policy measures. In realizing the objectives and measures set by the document, fund of MNT 7 trillion 311.4 billion is required. Estimations have been made that state budget will finance MNT 318.1 billion, external sources MNT 1 trillion 541.5 billion, government-private sector partnership and private investment MNT 5 trillion 436.4 billion and other sources MNT 15.4 billion.
As such, the document reflects objectives such as stabilizing macro economy, observing 1.8 percent economic growth, holding inflation rate at 8 percent, easing unemployment rate below 8 percent by means of increasing employment, and other prospective goals and measures.
