Eight Hundred iPads Hand Over to 28 Secondary Schools

Ulaanbaatar, October 8, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Chiba Institute of Technology of Japan handed over 800 iPads to a total of 28 schools, including 16 schools in suburban Ulaanbaatar, six schools in Arkhangai aimag, five schools in Uvs aimag, and one school in Batsumber soum in Tuv aimag.


The university had also handed over 550 iPads in January 2025, bringing the total number of devices provided free of charge to 1,350.


Executive Director of Chiba Institute of Technology Shusaku Maeda said, “This initiative aims to support information technology education in Mongolia, enhance students’ digital skills, and promote equal access to education.”


The initiative was spearheaded by Takenori Shimizu, an Honorary Professor at the university and a former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Mongolia.


The devices will be primarily used for the education of target groups and students with special needs.
