Construction of Mongolia's largest flyover starts in Ulaanbaatar
The construction of the largest flyover in Ulaanbaatar city launched today May 31, where a foundation stone laying ceremony of the construction was held. The project has 6 component parts. The main flyover between the Olympics Street and Ikh Mongol Uls Street, passing over Narnii zam (Sun road) and 406th railway crossing will be 470-meter long and 16.5-meter wide, with 4 lanes. Three sub-bridges will be constructed connecting the main flyover with Narnii Zam. The biggest sub-bridge and auto road to the south will be 637-meter long 7.5-meter wide with 2 lanes, while the other two will have a length of 170-meter and 270-meter and width of 7.5-meter and 8.5-meter with one lane each.

Russian Minister of Internal Affairs meets high-level officials of Mongolia
Russian Minister Vladimir Kolokotsov is paying a visit to Mongolia at the invitation of Minister of Justice and Home Affairs S.Byambatsogt. Within the framework of his visit, a cooperation agreement between the Mongolian Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs and Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs was renewed and signed today.

Today, May 31, a revised agreement for cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs of Mongolia and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia was signed by the Ministers, revising the agreement after 16 years.

Open digital library on traditional games launched in Mongolian version

Minister for Education J.Batsuuri dismissed
During the plenary meeting of Parliament, convened today, May 31, Member of Parliament Yo.Baatarbileg presented the affiliated Standing committee’s conclusion on the issue of dismissing Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports J.Batsuuri. The latter is being condemned for unsatisfactory observance of responsibilities of administering the educational sector, and policy-making and law implementing duties.

Cabinet of ministers convened for regular meeting on Tuesday, May 30. Ministers P.Gankhuu and Ts.Dashdorj, and Executive Director of Erdenes Mongol Ts.Tumentsogt were tasked to build sufficient reserve of diesel fuel and petrol to ensure preparedness for the wintering at Baganuur and Shivee Ovoo mines, to organize the stripping and overhaul maintenance works in a timely manner and focus on maintaining proper amount of coal reserve of the country.

Project to Climate Proof Forest Resources kicks off with workshop
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Mongolia today kicked off a USD 500,000 capacity development technical assistance project to increase the resilience of Mongolian forest ecosystems to climate change with an inception workshop. In attendance were M. Tungalag, Director for Department of Forest Policy and Coordination, MET, and Satomi Yoshini of the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

Cashmere price falls
Cashmere price has dropped compared to the beginning of this month at the Agricultural Commodities' Exchange. Today, unprocessed white cashmere of 27500 kg and dark/brown cashmere of 19160 kg were sold at the exchange for MNT70888-72411. Cashmere price was MNT84000 at the beginning of the month. Sheep wool price was MNT1220-1300.

Rain is expected in some parts of central aimags on June 1, southern parts of western aimags and some parts of central and eastern aimags on June 2, and in some parts of western and central aimags on June 3 and 4.  Winds will get stronger in some regions on June 1, reaching 16-18 m/sec, and in the Gobi, reaching 12-14 m/sec and forming dust storms.
