Mongolian School in Ottawa Opens New Academic Year

Ottawa, September 10, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Mongolian School in Ottawa, the capital of Canada, officially commenced its 2025-2026 academic year on September 6, 2025, continuing its commitment to preserving and promoting Mongolian language and culture overseas.


The school operates under the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board’s International and Indigenous Languages Program (IILP), offering both elementary and secondary education. This academic year, students will study Mongolian Language, history, national culture, and traditions under the guidance of J. Dagiijanchiv, B. Enkhtungalag, and B. Gan-Ochir at Centennial Public School.


In recognition of professional excellence, Mongolian Ambassador to Canada, Sarantogos Erdenetsogt, presented a certificate to teacher B. Gan-Ochir, who completed the professional and methodological online training 2024-2025 organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Language Policy Council for Mongolian language teachers abroad.


Mongolian schools in Canada play a key role in implementing the Government of Mongolia’s policy to support the native language education for Mongolians living and working overseas. These efforts contribute to the preservation of national identity and cultural heritage, in line with Government Resolution No.7 (2022) and the “Mongols of the World-II” initiative, according to the Embassy of Mongolia in Canada.
