In accordance with an intergovernmental agreement between Mongolia and the Russian Federation, four turbo-generators of the Thermal Power Plant No.4 have been upgraded and connected to the Central Energy System with a total cost of USD 93 million.

Border crossing duration reduced for freight trains
Officials of Ulaanbaatar Railway JSC, the railway of Hohhot, and the Erlian station of PRC held a meeting, coming to the decision to focus on increasing the number of trains being exchanged at the Zamiin-Uud and Erlian stations, and reducing the duration required for trains to cross the border from 3 hours to 1 hour and 5 minutes.

Trucks carrying fodder depart to aimags in severe wintering condition
he first convoy of trucks to deliver 1,200 tons of livestock fodder to over 45 thousand herder households in the aimags affected by severe winter and in transhumant areas has departed from Ulaanbaatar today. The Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh thanked the drivers who will distribute assistance to the herders.

Hay and fodder to be delivered to five aimags in severe wintering condition
According to the National Agency of Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry (MFALI), the wintering condition has worsened in Gobi-Altai, Umnugobi, Dundgobi, Uvurkhangai and Bayankhongor aimags. In considering the situations, the MFALI has decided to deliver hay and fodder to herders of these aimags within this month.

COVID-19 cases in the capital city reach 491
At today’s daily briefing of the Ministry of Health on the latest update on the COVID-19 situation in Mongolia, A.Ambaselmaa, a Head of Surveillance Department of the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD), has reported that the coronavirus was detected in 22 people, all in Ulaanbaatar city, after testing 11,581 people nationwide within the past 24 hours.

Simple solutions campaign starts to call ger district residents to insulate their houses with materials at hand
Within the framework of the “Switch Off Air Pollution” project, the Simple solutions campaign has been officially launched in Sukhbaatar and Songinokhairkhan districts with a call to insulate your house with the materials at hand.  The aim of the campaign is to encourage the target group households to insulate their houses through low-cost simple solutions, and to spread word of mouth about the importance of insulation among the general public.
